T2 Change - Plants and Seeds

We are learning to understand that:
Scientists follow a specific process and ask questions that lead to investigations.
Plants need many things to move through the life cycle.
We will be able to:
Show the life cycle of a plant.
Label the parts of a plant.
Classify objects using a Venn diagram
We will know we can do this when we can:
Draw pictures that depict the life cycle of plants.
Correctly label the parts of a plant


Sort and classify leaves into categories of our own making and independently represent these in a Venn diagram.

T2 Art Attack

We are learning to: 
·                make a tapa cloth.
Criteria:
·                choose a design to complete
·                follow the procedure to make it using paper, crayon, vivid markers and Indian ink.

We looked at a lot of pictures of Tapa Cloth patterns and decided to base our design on flowers.

How we did it.
First we scrunched up paper, then we flattened it out on our table. We made our flower design then we coloured it in brown. After that we outlined it in a vivid and put Indian ink on it.

Term 2 Statistics

WALT collect data using tally marks, display it on a graph and talk about what the graph shows
Criteria:
·      Know what data is
·      Pose questions for investigation
·      Collect data
·      Use tally marks
·      Make a bar graph
·      Talk about what the graph shows

Student voice:
Cats have the most. There is only one fish. Dogs have the next highest. The numbers tell us how much there are.

T2 Drawing

I am learning to…follow instructions to draw a wood pigeon
Success Criteria
·      Make the outlines first
·      Use some feather lines for light areas
·      Use some shading to show light and dark parts

Term 1 Written Language

I am learning to
write a recount with a beginning, middle and end.
Success Criteria
·      Use describing words
·      Use some similes
·      Create a picture in the mind of the reader
