On the 15th and 16th the year 5's went to camp and the year 6's stayed at school with Mrs Casey.
I enjoyed doing art with Tanika and Amber for passion time and while they were away I finished my publishing for my narrative. It was on our superheros.
The funny thing is we played two games of octopus, one game for fitness and a game after lunch but at least it was fun right?.

Science
WHAT? After literacy week we learned about space. We went to each year 5/6 teacher who had a different lesson about planet Earth and beyond.
SO WHAT? I enjoyed learning about the solar system with Mrs hall and we learned about special things about the planets and the solar system some other things I learned was that it takes Earth 365 days to orbit the sun. You wouldn't survive on Mercury because it's too hot. Also you wouldn't survive on Jupiter because it's filled with gases.
NOW WHAT? My next step is to learn more about space.

kauri athletics event
What?: I t was the kauri athletics on Wednesday.
So what?: the events were shot put, discus, long jump, high jump, sprints. I enjoyed the sprints because I came 2nd.
Now what?: I would like to get better at shot put because I made to 2 points but I wanted to get to 3 points.

WHAT?
IALT: develop my swimming skills
In the last two weeks the whole class went to Star Fish to do swimming lessons.
SO WHAT? I have enjoyed learning freestyle and backstroke and lots more. and I learned the correct breathing technique.
NOW WHAT? I need to improve on my backstroke because I'm sinking a lot.

WHAT?
Last Tuesday we went to the Life Education truck. Our big question was what does our body need to stay healthy and happy?

I learned that there's lots of sugar, salt and last of all fat in food and there are different names for them.
I also learned how to read the nutritional information on the packaging.
